HOW YOU CAN HELP - Print Out

Please note, while these notes are intended to make it easy for you by being generally helpful, with such a wide variance in ages in the types of web browsers, it is impossible for us to cover each properly. None of these three tasks are at all difficult to accomplish on any computer and your own "Help" drop down menu is always there to help if our instructions leave you wondering. Once you have learned these, you will be easily able to explain it to friends.

HOW TO CREATE A BOOKMARK

By bookmarking the World Legacy website, you be able to locate it easily with one mouse click, so that you can "Click to Feed a Hungry Child" very conveniently and quickly.

With our homepage (http://www.worldlegacy.org) displayed on the screen in front of you, click on "Favorites" in Microsoft Explorer (the very top of your screeen in the menu bar) , or "Bookmarks" in Netscape Communicator (top left) or Mozilla. Simply click on "Add to Favorites" or "Add Bookmark" and select which folder there you want it to put World Legacy in, then "OK" or "Save".

Whenever you wish to go to World Legacy, just find that bookmark -- return to Favorites or Bookmarks and click on it -- it will be opened automtically for you in your browser window without you having to remember the web address, or type in its URL.

HOW TO CREATE AN AUTOMATICALLY LOADING WEBPAGE

This is the most convenient method of all to help yourself remember to "Click to Feed a Hungry Child" every day, because everytime you start up your web browser, this is the page that will appear first.

In Microsoft Explorer menu heading go to "Tools" and click on "Internet Options". On the page that opens you will see the "General" settings file tab. Find "Homepage Address" (with the words "You can change which page to use as your homepage"). Simply type in that box: http://www.worldlegacy.org Lastly, click OK. Close Explorer and reload it to test that your new homepage will automaticaly display.

In Netscape menu heading go to "Edit", then click on "Preferences". On the page that opens you will find "Categories" on the left, highlight "Navigator" Category, then on the right check off the "Home Page" option box. Find "Home page" (and the words "Clicking the Home button will take you to this page) and type in that box: http://www.worldlegacy.org Lastly, click OK. Close Netscape and reload it to test that your new homepage will automatically display.

HOW TO CREATE AN AUTOMATIC EMAIL POST SCRIPT MESSAGE

Also called a Signature File, your brief message will appear at the bottom of your outgoing email, and serve as a wonderful personal invitation from you to all your correspondents -- to take a moment, link over to worldlegacy.org, and feed a hungry child.

If your email reader is Microsoft Outlook Express go to "Tools" in the menu heading and click on "Options" On the page that opens you will click on the "Signatures" file tab. Click on "New" to write a new text message, Check the option "Add Signature to all Outgoing Messages". Highlight the word "Signature#1 Default", Check off the option box "Text", and then type your text message in the space provided. For the body of your message you can easily copy (or cut and paste) any of the signature messages illustrated for this purpose at FAQS. Click OK when you done. Test your new signature file by sending yourself an email.

If your email reader is Netscape go to "Options" and click on "Preferences". In the left list of Categories, highlight "Identity". On the right you will then see a "Sigature File" text box for typing in your messge, or you can copy a signature message such as the one above. You do not have to check the option box "Attach my personal card as a vcard" (unless you want your phone/contact info included - in that case you can create a sort of business card attachment which will display with the signature message). Click OK when your message is complete. Test that your new signature file by sending yourself an email.
